The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the operations of shore-based seafarers' welfare providers. These non-for-profit charities have traditionally provided for seafarers with drop-in seafarers' centres, transport to local markets, communication tools and a friendly welcome in a foreign port.  With pandemic restrictions, these normal activities have been severely restricted. This panel hears from the representatives of leading global seafarers' welfare charities about the continuing impacts of the pandemic on their provision of welfare services in port, but also how they have responded creatively and what plans they are making for the coming year.
